Real-time marketing

Twitter’s tweet “Hello literally everyone” got a tremendous response when Facebook was down.

Now, I’m not here to bring that tweet back from the dead.

But to share that, it’s an excellent marketing strategy.

When an event dominates the internet, all you have to do is come up with a witty remark, graphic, or meme in response to that event.

The event, in itself, doesn’t necessarily need to be related to you or your industry.

But the graphic or meme should connect the event to your product.

Need another example?

A similar thing happened when Facebook changed its name to Meta.

Did you see how marketers and brands all over the internet were sharing memes and creative copy that connected the trend to their products?
